Holiday Tips

Taking your dog

Plan some of your walking routes before you arrive

We’ve prepared some recommended holiday guides for dogs in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Scotland that will help satisfy both yours and your dog’s thirst for adventure!

Doggy treats

A few doggy-treats for the journey will help make it go quicker for them and you, and a great way to reward their good behaviour too

Have a walk

When you arrive at the holiday park, take some time to walk your dog around and help them to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings – it’s a great way to meet new people (and dogs too!)

Pack their favourite toys

Help your dog feel at ease with their new surroundings by packing their favourite toys, bed, food and treats; it’ll make for a more relaxing holiday for you and them

Provide a non-spill water bowl

Provide a non-spill water bowl for the journey to keep your dog hydrated

Plenty of stops

Plan plenty of stops during your journey; it doesn’t need to be service stations either, with plenty of great locations to stop and give your pooch some fresh air and a walk

Check the beaches

Dogs love to stretch their legs and explore open beaches and paddle in the water – just check the beaches that accept dogs during your visit before you arrive, and if in doubt check with reception at the holiday park

Keep your dog on a lead

You will need to keep your dog on a lead at times during your stay, and also make sure they have a tag with mobile contact numbers on – bring spares too as they may come off whilst out and about

Health & Saftey

Some dos and don'ts

  • Do poop-scoop and clean up after your dog – both on park and out-and-about
  • Do ensure your dog is wearing a collar at all times including an ID tag
  • Do keep your dog on a lead at all times, except in any designated ‘dog areas’ on park
  • Don’t take your dog (unless it is an assistance dog) into any of the park’s facilities or children’s play areas
  • Don’t leave your dog unattended in your holiday home (and do keep them off bedding and seats)
  • Don’t leave your dog out of the control of a responsible adult at any time

We're sorry we are unable to accept the following breeds of dogs on our parks: American pit bull terrier, Fila Brasileiro, Japanese Tosa or Dogo Argentino

Please refer to section 18 of our Terms & Conditions for further information about bringing your pet on holiday with you.
