Cardiff

Cardiff is the Capital of Wales and the real heartbeat of the Country, unlike the rest of Wales Cardiff is anything but peaceful. The city has 149 bars and clubs, 73 restaurant and the 75,000 seat Millennium Stadium. As well as all the entertainment and fun Cardiff has a wealth of historic and traditional attractions such as; Cardiff Castle, National Museum of Wales and Wales Millennium Centre. However the main attraction to Cardiff is the entertainment and shopping facilities. Cardiff has been voted the 6th best shopping city in Britain.

Swansea

Swansea is known as “The city by the Sea”, where ever you are in Swansea you are only a short walk from the gorgeous 5 miles of sandy beaches which surround the city. Swansea has two must see attractions, the National Waterfront Museum and LC Leisure complex and Water Park. The city has number of fine shopping areas and is home to Wales’s largest indoor market, the city also has a large number of bars and restaurants.

Barry

Barry is one of the largest towns is South Wales, the town has a proud history with holiday makers and has invested time and money to make sure this history continues. Barry has plenty to offer to tourists with many shops and attractions around the town. A trip to Barry however is not complete without visiting the traditional seaside resort of Barry Island; the resort has a large beach popular with families, a fairground and many other seaside attractions. Ones of the main attractions to Barry is that it is the home of the hit BBC series Gavin and Stacey, with all the filming taking place around Barry why not see if you can spot where your favourite scenes were filmed.

Porthcawl

Porthcawl is a coastal town and is very close to Trecco Bay Holiday Park, the town is a quiet seaside resort with a gorgeous blue flag beach and quiet promenade. If you want a bit more excitement in Porthcawl it has its very own funfair and some nice pubs and restaurants. Porthcawl is also home to some very good water sports including surfing and windsurfing.

Llanelli

Llanelli is one of South Wales most refreshing towns; the town is situated alongside some stunning coastline and scenery. The town has seen vast improvements over the last few years with a lot of investment in sporting and outdoor facilities. Traditional attractions such as Kidwelly Castle as well as shops and restaurants have also seen improvement over the last few years.

Tenby

Tenby has been one of South Wales’s favourite holiday destinations for many years; the town has beautiful beaches on either side of its harbour. Above the harbour is Castle Hill where the remains of a Norman Castle lie, in the grounds of the castle are the town’s museum and art gallery. Tenby Harbour used to be a centre of trade and is now protected by the national trust, these days the harbour is used by pleasure craft. Tenby is popular with tourist and is full of shops, galleries, bars and restaurants.

Pembroke

Pembroke is a small coastal town with a big history. The town is dominated by a Norman Castle and two Norman churches; these remind you of how important the town was seen in guarding Britain. Due to the history of thee town it has become a popular tourist destination and has seen a rise in the number of shops and restaurants.

Milford Haven

Milford Haven grew in the late 1880’s due to the rise of its port, even though the port now has declined in terms of trade it is still a working port and the town itself is still busy. The town has a huge influx of visitors over summer with holidaymakers and surfers coming to the area. The town has a stunning beach and all normal attractions you would expect from a busy seaside town.

Bridgend

Bridgend is a busy town in South Wales dominated by its hill top castle, the town however is better known for being a shopper’s paradise, and there are many shops and outlets in the area where shoppers can save huge amounts. The town also has some fantastic coastal scenery and can be popular with bathers and surfers in the summer months Bridgend has many attractions and events throughout the year to keep the whole family entertained.
