Fantastic beach, very clean and safe for the children. We could see them all the time. Great coffee from the cafe. We had an idyllic day there.

Lol lol lol - we found this in error by following a sandcastle sign in Swansea thinking that its probably jus down the road...oh no driving down beautiful lanes thinking I might just turn round here because this is mad, but when we got there it was stunning with a beach over a mile long and about 40 people on it! Dunes, cliffs, walks, food huts and a bucket and spade pit stop.

Stunningly beautiful. A long trek down & up but well worth it.

One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Who needs holidays abroad when there are beaches like Rhossili Bay. Never mind the weather the view makes up for it. Fabulous.

Castle Beach, Tenby

Castle Beach lies in the cove between Castle Hill and the East Cliff. At low tides it is possible to walk out to St. Catherine's island, but take care that the tide does not cut you off.

Surely the loveliest beach in the UK and I've seen many. Sand, palm trees overlooking this gorgeous bay - the 'castle in the sea' - clear water- all amenities on hand. Lifeguard patrol. It’s perfect. I can wax lyrical over Tenby in general, and this beach is the icing on the cake.

From here one could go to Caldy Island - a fascinating experience. I am not so well acquainted with Tenby and maybe it is not quite the Paradise for children as Porthcawl is. But here is a very picturesque harbour and the walled town is well worth a visit.

The sand at this beach is about as good as it gets. This beach was used to stage five successful World Land Speed Records in the 1920's at speeds of around 170mph. The beach is busy at weekends and for Bank holidays and becomes hugely popular with families. The beach is a short walk from Pendine Sands Holiday Park.

An excellent sandy beach for dogs, as far as I can make out all year round. There is a small section between the two slip ways that dogs are not permitted but this is usually once the sun picks up and its gets busy, and dependent on height of the tide. I was walking the dog from 0700 and hardly saw anyone especially if you head east towards the Laugharne estuary a diffident must for dog owners.

Rate this is a 5 star even though part of the beach is closed off Monday - Friday between 8am to 4pm, otherwise lovely. From the campsite it is only about a 10 minute walk, quicker if you’re fitter. Stunning views and friendly people. Downside to the food is its either fast food or a la carte or expensive.

My wife and I love coming to Pendine Sands. We have visited 3 times this year, me and my family will be back for Easter with 3 caravans. My wife and I will be back in September 2012 also.

Beautiful beach and some lovely caves for the kids to explore! The whole area is beautifully kept, very clean and has some lovely cafes and shops too.

Added by Janet Haverson on 14/07/2011 15:16:39

This is a lovely clean beach. It has lovely sandcastle sand. It’s great for all the family from ages 80 to 1 month. Everything is within easy reach, cafe, pub, post office, gift shop and toilets. Sea is clean and no sudden dips in sand making sea depth deep unexpectedly. There are Sea birds nesting and roosting on cliffs. Unlike many seaside places gulls do not pester or threaten. To be recommended to those who enjoy a traditional beach.

Added by Sheila Rae on 22/07/2011 18:32:53

Lovely clean sandy beach, clear water which is never freezing cold, cliffs, rock pools, conveniences all nearby. The only thin that may bother anyone with children is that there is no lifeguard on the beach.
