When is May half term 2024?
May half term coincides with the spring bank holiday weekend, making it a great time of year for a short break or longer May half term holiday. Mark these dates in your diary to start planning your next getaway.
England & Wales May half term dates
- Schools across England and Wales will break up on Friday 24th May - then return 1 week later, on Monday 3rd June.
Scotland May half term dates
- Scotland does not have a May half term, due to their schools breaking up earlier for summer, however, Scottish schools will be closed for an additional INSET day on Tuesday 28th May, making for an extra-long 4-day bank holiday weekend.
When is the spring bank holiday?
- Across England, Scotland and Wales, the spring bank holiday (also known as the ‘late May bank holiday’) falls on Monday 27th May - it’s the perfect weekend for a short break.
When is May half term 2025?
- In 2025 the May bank holidays fall on Monday 5th May and Monday 26th May
