Many of the customers who stay at our Scottish Holiday Parks use them as a base to take advantage of the great Scottish walks nearby. There is such a large selection of walks in Scotland that we thought we would help out by telling you about our favourites below.

Elgin, River Lossie and Quarry Wood

Moderate walk. 7 miles.

A walk which starts at a spectacular cathedral and takes you along the River Lossie and through the Quarry Woods.

Start - Elgin Cathedral | Finish - Elgin Cathedral.


Port Elphinstone River and Canal Walk

Moderate walk. 4.4 miles.

A quiet walk along the River Don then through deciduous woods and the surrounding countryside.

Start - River Don | Finish - River Don.


Nairn Riverside Walk

Easy walk. 2.2 miles.

A nice walk along the river and around the seaside town, using paths you can vary the length of this walk to your liking.

Start - Nairn Harbour | Finish - Nairn Harbour.


Findhorn Gorge

Easy walk. 2.5 miles.

A walk around Findhorn Gorge and through the surrounding woodland and farmland.

Start - Findhorn Gorge car park | Finish - Findhorn Gorge car park.


The Ness Islands

Easy walk. 1.7 miles.

The Ness Islands are situated in a city and are linked by several old bridges and offer a quiet, scenic walk through tall, old native and imported trees.

Start - Ness Islands | Finish - Ness Islands.


Mangerton Tower

Moderate walk. 4.4 miles.

Although mostly a road walk this route is interesting in that it follows a short section of the bed of the old Waverley Railway line passing the ruin of Old Mangerton Tower, once the stronghold of the Armstrong Clan.

Start - Douglas Square, Newcastleton | Finish - Douglas Square, Newcastleton.


The Devils Trail, Barr

Moderate walk. 4 miles.

The walk starts along the waters of Gregg then turns into a steady climb to give you fantastic views of the Stinchar Valley.

Start - Barr village | Finish - Barr village.


Three Green Knights Field, Auchincruive

Easy walk. 1 mile.

Easy walk along the waterside and through the woodlands before you come out on top of The Green Knights Field.

Start - Oswald's Bridge car park | Finish - Oswald's Bridge car park.


John Brown's Walk, Muirkirk

Easy walk. 2.3 miles.

A walk over local moorlands past Glenbuck Bog to the place where John Brown was shot in 1685.

Start - Car park | Finish - Car Park.


Baidlandhill Walk

Moderate walk. 3.4 miles.

An enjoyable circular walk with magnificent views of the Firth of Clyde. The buildings along this walk are spectacular with the 50m spire of St Margaret's Church dominating the sky.

Start - Historic Centre, Darly | Finish - Historic Centre, Darly.
