Northern Adventure

My husband, daughter and sister and I spent a wonderful weekend in our well-appointed and cosy caravan.

Comfy beds, great self-catering facilities and the bonus was the view. We enjoyed sitting out on the veranda, even in the rain.

Can we go to sleep now!!!

Camping and caravanning with the grandchildren - aged 5 and 7 - has always been a bit strenuous when our hopes for a quiet evening with a glass of wine turn into marathon entertainment sessions of who's having which bunk.

Camping and caravanning with the grandchildren - aged 5 and 7 - has always been a bit strenuous when our hopes for a quiet evening with a glass of wine turn into marathon entertainment sessions of who's having which bunk.

Not at Grannies Heilan Hame. After a full day of entertainment (and Granny JD did some target practice in the clubroom too), swimming, beach walking and playing with other campers it was quite a shock to be asked "can we go to bed now?"

Absolutely loved the place, the staff were so helpful and cheerful, the facilities great (we're more "wild" campers so it was a novelty for us all) and hopefully we'll be back for a longer stay later in the summer.

I also had a reunion with an aunt I haven't seen for 53 years who came and had coffee in our ancient van in really dreek weather, the icing on the cake really.

Next time hope to venture off the camp, but not too bothered if we don't - always have to leave something to do next visit!!!

Back, time and time again....

We ( hubby and me) returned for the umpteenth time...we initially booked here as wanted to visit Highlands of Scotland ( possibly only once) and loved the area so much.

The site staff are friendly and willing to advise on local places of interest. The site itself is remote, which although doesn’t sound child friendly is set up so everyone of all ages, physical ability, and interests are... Read full story »

The site staff are friendly and willing to advise on local places of interest. The site itself is remote, which although doesn’t sound child friendly is set up so everyone of all ages, physical ability, and interests are taken into account. A small pool is well staffed and clean, a sauna, sunbed (if that takes your fancy), a basketball/ tennis court, a lovely kids play area, crazy golf.

A beautiful unspoilt beach within access ( and seals and dolphins have been seen here). Staff can’t do enough to enable your stay here is the best it can be.

A little slice of heaven

We have been coming to Grannies for around 16 years now and it just keeps getting better. This park is very well kept and maintained. All staff without exception are friendly, welcoming and courteous. The location is just stunning! We will continue to come back again and again.

The accommodation is second to none and the addition of decking and tables and chairs just polishes it off. ... Read full story »

The accommodation is second to none and the addition of decking and tables and chairs just polishes it off. The pool is well supervised and dressing rooms clean and tidy.

The entertainment is just spot on. The "not in your face" type approach really works....it's there if you like that kind of thing and if you don't that's also okay. Thanks again to the staff on the site who work really hard to make every holiday a good one. Keep up the good work.
