Met office say a Hot Summer is on the Cards for UK Holidaymakers
It looks like a hot summer is on the cards for UK holidaymakers; with the latest forecasts from the Met Office indicating that summer 2009 is going to be a scorcher.
Their most recent forecast indicate that the UK is "odds on for a barbeque summer" this year, which is certainly good news for British holidaymakers!
Temperatures are predicted to likely to be warmer than average across the UK, topping 30˚C at times, which was a rare occurrence in 2008; while rainfall should be "near or below average" for the three months of summer. Forecasts even tip the UK to have a relatively drier, warmer summer 2009 than some of our European counterparts.
The prospect of a hot summer will be music to the ears of holidaymakers across the UK, especially for those who felt cheated at having endured the "dullest" August on record last year, which soaked up just 105.5 hours of sunshine against an average for the month of 165.
With many Brits feeling the pinch this year and forgoing that hot holiday abroad, this is certainly good news and shows that you don't have to holiday abroad for the good weather!
What's more, we've got some (hot) deals for you to enjoy while soaking up the British sunshine on your summer holiday! With savings available of up to £100 at some of our parks this is definitely the year to go British.
