UK Cycling Holidays – in celebration of Bike Week
Get on your bike

UK Cycling Holidays – in celebration of Bike Week. In support of the Government campaign, Change4Life, we are encouraging families to get back on their bikes and explore the countryside for Bike Week (13th-21st June 2009).

Our 24 UK Holiday Parks are set in some of the most beautifully idyllic locations around the UK; from Cornwall to Wales, Norfolk to Scotland, they offer the perfect opportunity to put those pedals through their paces.

Here are some of our favourite cycling hotspots for you to try -

White Acres Holiday Park
North Cornwall

This park is set in 184 acres of stunning countryside, with 13 beautiful fishing lakes on site and the only way to explore is on two wheels! Alternatively, you can take your bike off site and pedal around the rugged Cornish coastline, visiting hillside villages such as the picturesque St Agnes.

Sandford Holiday Park
Near Poole, Dorset

If you can tear yourself away from all the excitement on site at Sandford then take your two wheels to Upton County Park or Wareham Forest to tread the trails. If sea and sand is more your scene then why not bike it from beach to beach?

Mullion Holiday Park
South Cornwall

The Lizard Peninsula is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, surrounded by Blue Flag beaches, here, the cycling enthusiast would be spoilt for choice.

There is bike hire available on site, although you will need to jump in the car for a short drive taking you to the famous Penzance to Lizard Point path. At 34 miles it has a difficulty rating of 6/10, your efforts are rewarded generously with the stunning views stretching from the coastline.

St Minver Holiday Park
Near Rock, Cornwall

Set in beautiful woodland, St Minver is ideally placed for visiting the famous fishing port of Padstow or Port Isaac. A stones throw from a scattering of stunning beaches including Rock, Daymer Bay and Polzeath; you must make time to plunge those pedals in to the untapped countryside of Cornwall’s Camel Valley. The Camel Trail follows the Camel River on a winding adventure.

West Bay Holiday Park
Dorset

The only way to enjoy what West Bay has to offer is on two wheels! This pretty harbour village is located on Dorset's famous Jurassic Coast, known for the dinosaur fossils found there. The Jurassic Coast will hold cyclists mesmerised, lose hours foraging for fossils along the way!

Torquay Holiday Park
Devon

The English Riviera boasts some of the best coastal views in the country, so a bike ride between the Torbay towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham is a must!

If you don't’ mind the hills, start at the beautiful Brandy Cove from there cycle round the headland, past Daddyhole and down to the stunning harbour. Then take the sea route along Marine Drive and cycle past Preston Sands and Paignton Pier, where you will see the funfair during the summer school holidays!

Newquay Holiday Park
Cornwall

In addition to the stunning beaches around Newquay, the region offers the beautiful St Piran Trail. The famous route is a picturesque journey through villages and patchwork countryside taking in ancient buildings and woodland valleys. The trail emerges on the banks of the Camel Estuary where it joins The Camel Trail.

Join the fun, get on your bike and head to one of our UK holiday parks to celebrate Bike Week!
