The Truro City Carnival, Cornwall
The only city in Cornwall, Truro offers a wealth of attractions for visitors including a large selection of shops, bars and restaurants as well as its magnificent cathedral. The Truro City Carnival is taking place on Saturday 12th September and promises to be a fantastic family day out.
For 2009 the Truro Carnival has an even wider range of judging categories including, best decorated trade vehicle, best decorated wheelchair, pram and bike as well as the return of the popular Carnival Queens and the fairy King and Queen sections of the carnival procession.
The day begins with a 'Party Picnic' from 11am in Hendra Park, where families are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy face painting, small children's rides, a glamorous Granny and gorgeous Grandad competition in addition to welly throwing and other fun activities.
This is all followed by a fantastic grand finale with the colourful carnival procession, what better way to spend a day of your family holiday.
