The Royal Highland Show, Scotland 25th – 28th June 2009
Scotland's largest outdoor event and one of the UK's most iconic Agriculutural Shows, The Royal Highland Show is a 4 day family friendly festival.
The four day festival at Ingliston, West Edinburgh, Scotland, will take place 25th – 28th June and is expected to attract over 155,000 visitors this year as it celebrates its’ 225th anniversary.
The Royal Highland Show celebrates Scottish history; inviting visitors to touch, see, taste and hear the very best Scotland has to offer through traditional entertainment, cattle markets, children’s activities, outdoor living and a host of stalls.
Experience Scottish culture first hand as you try caber tossing, whisky tasting and enjoy traditional Scottish music and entertainment.
Whatever your interests, The Royal Highland Show has something to appeal to a wide range of tastes. Whether your passion is BMX bikes, falconry, fashion, crafts or outdoor life there’ll be plenty at the festival to keep you entertained.
The show is a great day out for the whole family, with plenty for the kids to do, from an animal section to the Discovery Centre and a special guest, The Beano’s Dennis the Menace!
What's more it doesn't cost the earth for you to take the family out for the day, kids under 16 go free and adult tickets are discounted if you buy more than one in advance.
A drive outside Edinburgh you will find Sundrum Castle Holiday Park and Wemyss Bay Holiday Park. Both are great family holiday parks with loads to do on park and around the local area and provide a great base for you to enjoy the festival from and enjoy the school summer holidays.
