Dawlish Carnival Week 2009, South Devon
The Dawlish Carnival is one of the biggest events of its’ kind in the South West of England and is an event not to be missed on your summer holiday.
Last year The Dawlish Carnival in Devon attracted over 90,000 visitors to the procession and airshow alone. This year Dawlish Carnival Week will run from 15th – 22nd August and is predicted to be even bigger than last year!
The two main events are The Airshow and the Carnival Procession. The Dawlish airshow is one of the largest free airshows in the UK and includes some breathtaking sights, both in the air and on the ground. This year you can expect to see The Red Arrows, RAF Sea King, RNAS Sea King and a special Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at various stages throughout carnival week.
The Carnival Procession will take place on Friday 21st August across Dawlish town and is fantastic family event. The procession often stretches over 1 mile in length with everything from traditional carnival music to fabulous outfits and dancing demonstrations, with the Carnival Queen, Princess and Attendant welcoming everyone to Dawlish from the Royalty Float.
In addition to the procession and airshow there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained throughout Carnival Week, including street entertainment, funfair rides, paintball, stunt dog shows, fashion stalls and loads more it’s a great family day out!
