RNAS Culdrose Air Day 2009, Cornwall
Enjoy a family day out to the Royal Naval Air Station in Culdrose, Cornwall, at their open day on 29th July as they celebrate 100 years of naval aviation.
The Culdrose Air Day happens once a year, as the naval station open their doors to the public and invite you behind the scenes of a working military Naval Air Station.
This year the Culdrose Air Day promises to be an extra special event, as it celebrates 100 years of naval aviation, providing a great day out for the whole family which is action packed from start to finish!
Kids (and adults) of all ages are invited to take part in interactive exhibitions and displays, enjoy a helicopter ride, be winched into the driving seat of a military fire engine, or be scrambled in your own search and rescue mission and loads more. All the while crowds will be entertained to a fantastic air display as military aircraft and fast jets whiz across the sky.
Famed for heroic rescues and with frontline helicopter Squadrons supporting the Navy across the globe, Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose is home to almost 100 aircraft including Merlin helicopters, Sea Kings and Hawk Jets. Air Day is a great day out for any aviation enthusiast, anyone whoever dreamed of becoming a pilot, or for just a unique family day out.
