Blue Flag Beach Awards
'Keep Britain Tidy' has released the details of beaches that have been awarded the Blue Flag of Excellence for 2009.
The awards are in recognition of high quality bathing water, safety and services provided at UK beaches, and help British holidaymakers identify prime locations for their family summer holiday.
There were 71 Blue Flags awarded in total this year, and seven of our UK Holiday Parks are situated on or nearby 19 of these Blue Flag Beaches:
- Hayling Island Holiday Park, Hampshire – Hayling Island West and Central Beaches
- Sandford Holiday Park, Dorset – Sandbanks Peninsular, Shore Road, Canford Cliffs and Breaksome Beaches
- Challaborough Bay Holiday Park, Cornwall – Challaborough Beach
- Torquay Holiday Park, Devon – Oddicombe, Meadfoot, Anstey's cove, Goodrington South Sands, Paignton, Preston sands, Maidencombe and Torre Abbey Sands Beaches
- St Minver Holiday Park, Cornwall – Polzeath Beach.
- Cherry Tree Holiday Park, Norfolk – Gorleston and Great Yarmouth Beaches
- Warmwell Holiday Park, Dorset – Weymouth and Portland Borough Beaches
- Trecco Bay Holiday Park, Wales – Porthcawl Beach
Cornwall received eight Blue Flag accolades which was the highest number for any beach managing authority, and we are proud to be the largest Holiday Park operator in Cornwall!
