Perched on top of wooded slopes overlooking the breathtaking views of the Firth of Clyde and onto Arran, Wemyss Bay is in a great part of Scotland for exploring the west coast.
Just a short ferry crossing takes you to the isles of Arran, Cumbrae and Bute which are havens of history and heritage. Step ashore on Bute to an island with a history that goes back to early Christian settlements and Viking invasions. Or take a daytrip to Arran, one of Scotland's most southerly isles, and set out on a day of walking round the Arran Coastal Way – a continuous 50 mile route round the island.
But don't worry, there are many cafes and restaurants for refreshment in the towns and villages on this 167 square mile isle.
