For the last 11 years we have tried to go twice a year to Ruda, once in the summer (in our touring van) and once in the winter (apartments). Regardless of the weather, and if we go peak or off peak, the place is wonderful.

For the last 11 years we have tried to go twice a year to Ruda, once in the summer (in our touring van) and once in the winter (apartments). Regardless of the weather, and if we go peak or off peak, the place is wonderful.

The site has all the amenities that couples, families or groups need. The beach is a few steps away and the quaint village is a short walk. I have told many of my friends and family about Ruda and almost all that have been return year after year.

The staff on the site have always been helpful, friendly and informative. We have been again this already (3rd-7th Jan) and as always had a marvelous time.

We stayed in Lundy Cottage over the New Year period. They say it is the small things that a company should be measured on and I would like to tell you this simple small story which highlights the excellent customer care from Ruda.

My four year old daughter left behind her favourite childhood toy. Any parent will know that this is the worst disaster that can befall a child, so I contacted Ruda. A member of staff actually left his desk and walked around to Lundy Cottage to check to see if he could find it. He did, telephoned us back and then sent it on.

We offered to pay postage, however, he declined to take the money. I thought I would share this lovely story with you just to tell you that the staff at Ruda are first class and deserve a huge pat on the back. I hope a senior staff member reads this and passes on a huge thank you to the kind member of his reception staff that did this kind and thoughtful deed. Well done Ruda, see you again soon!

Twixmas and New Year stay

We stayed at a Ruda Atlantic Apartment from 27 December 2011 until 3 January 2012. The Apartment was pleasant; clean, warm and comfortable with a fine set of equipment for catering. Its position was really convenient as we had extraordinary views of Croyde Bay beach and its surrounding area.

We were able to undertake very enjoyable walks to the village shops and restaurants. We also did a walk to Baggy Point which included excellent coastal views. We were also able to visit the friends and relations that lived nearby, i.e. our son and his wife in Woodbury near Exeter and his wife's parents in Braunton.

Our Daughter, her husband and their recently born baby girl joined us at the apartment. They also enjoyed its very enjoyable conditions. Our daughter’s husband was able to enjoy surfing several times while we were there.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at Ruda 10 - 17 Dec, however weather wasn't great, VERY windy and even had snow whilst visiting Lynton and Lynmouth. We enjoyed our walk along the great Ruda Beach but were really amazed by the sand which had completely covered the table and benches outside the closed cafe, a lot of clearing up for the owners before next season!

Our weekend at Ruda was brilliant we stayed in a Lodge which had all amenities, we had a problem with the boiler and it was fixed within an hour, what a service. Our weekend at Ruda was brilliant we stayed in a Lodge which had all amenities, we had a problem with the boiler and it was fixed within an hour, what a service. We had accommodation only which was still brilliant with a walk away from the Croyde Beach what a wonderful walk first thing in the morning.

Absolutely fab and would recommend this to anyone who wants to a great getaway. Thanks. The lodge was a three bedroom lodge, centrally heated, and doubled glazed for us it was brilliant and we were very impressed at the service given even though we had accommodation only it was still a fab short break.
