Beaches in Devon

There are a huge range of beaches in Devon many of which are only a short drive from our holidays parks. But how do you choose? Well we have put together a list of our favourite Devon beaches to help make it easier for you.

Croyde Bay, Croyde

Croyde is perhaps Devon's best known surfing beach and for good reason, producing large and powerful waves. Croyde is a popular resort village with the beach being its main asset; as a result it can get a little crowded at the height of the holiday season. The beach is right next to Ruda Holiday Park which provides a perfect location for Devon's surfing hot spot.


Combe Martin beach, Ilfracombe

This is a nice rocky bay in Devon, with a steeply shelving sand and shingle beach that only shows it's real character at lower tides.


Woolacombe Bay, Woolacombe

This is one of Devon's most famous beaches, the three-mile long stretch of golden sand has won both the blue flag and Premier Seaside Beach awards. The beach is well patrolled and family friendly.


Instow beach, Bideford

Instow Beach is a long beach popular for fishing and sailing as well as other beach activities. It is a sandy beach, backed by low dunes.


Westward Ho! beach, Bideford

The is ones of Devon's finest beaches and is one of the safest in the area. It offers vast expanses of golden sands, which makes it ideal for fun family bathing. The beach also offers fantastic surfing conditions and attracts surfers from all over.


Challaborough Beach, Challaborough

A sheltered cove with a fine sandy beach in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Great for building sand castles and exploring rock pools at low tide. The beach experiences swells and shore breaks and is consequently popular with surfers and body boarders. Challaborough Bay Holiday Park offers direct access to the Blue Flag Beach.


Ness Cove, Shaldon

Ness Cove at Shaldon nestles in between magnificent red cliffs and gives bathers a fantastic view.


Teignmouth Town beach, Teignmouth

This is one of Devon's most popular beaches. With free summer entertainment, long promenade, state-of-the-art children's play area and adventure golf course means that a day on Teignmouth beach is a real family treat.


Bantham beach, Bantham

This beach is backed by marram covered sand dunes and has lots of rock pools. Bantham is one of the most popular surfing beaches in Devon.


Bigbury on Sea beach, Burgh Island

This is one of Devon's most stunning and sandy beaches, the shallow water makes it ideal for paddling and rock pools for exploring. Bigbury on Sea is a popular family beach and great for windsurfing and kite surfing too.


Paignton beach, Paignton

Paignton Beach is one of Devon's most popular family beaches, it is divided by a traditional seaside pier which is open all year round and has amusements and cafes.
