Clovelly

Set into a steep hillside, Clovelly is one of the most famous villages in the world.

The single cobbled high street winds its way down the hillside through traditional whitewashed cottages festooned with fuchsias and geraniums

We enjoyed charming and genuine Croyde village. Saunton Sands, first visited in 1975 when staying at Lobb Fields. Energetic and clean Croyde Beach and Braunton and Barnstaple, especially the Market.

Dartmouth Castle

One of the most picturesquely - sited fortresses in England. For over six hundred years Dartmouth Castle has guarded the narrow entrance to the Dart Estuary and the busy, vibrant port of Dartmouth.

A bit of a walk to get there but well worth it. Lovely old castle, also showing where new bits had been added as it continued to provide defense over the centuries. Quite affordable to get in, also nice tea rooms. A trip there or back on the little ferry is a must for the sights it affords, cheaper than a bay tour that's for sure!

Kents Cavern

Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves in the heart of Torquay has a remarkable record of ancient human occupation stretching back over 500,000 years. Its most important artefact is a human jawbone dated at 37,000 years old, the oldest human fossil in Europe.

We visited Kent’s Cavern on the 6th of November. We visited with our two children aged 11 and 13. I have to say that the attraction was absolutely brilliant. The caverns were really interesting and the whole event was made fun and amusing by a very knowledgeable tour guide called Elliot. I would and have recommended this attraction to others. Don't miss it.

I was not sure I would enjoy this but it was thoroughly interesting and I liked it a lot. The guide did a lot to explain what we were seeing and how the caves developed.

Fab! Well worth the money and my little boy enjoyed it a lot. Good cafe too. Only let down is not a lot of parking.

We had a lovely time; it was great how the guide told us how the caves were found and what was in them. We also had lunch and they did fab big cakes. It is well worth the money and time to go there.

A step back in time wonderful old trams, open topped trams will blow the cobwebs away. Kill two birds with one stone and visit Peccorama at Beer just 10 mins away, a totally mind blowing miniature ride on a railway, plus very relaxing gardens. Be warned you will want to get your spade out when you get home.

A brilliant mix of History and Art, the kids loved the Brass Rubbing and the Gardens were glorious..... A Beautiful place!
