Trecco Bay Holiday Park: Love at First Visit

As one of the UK’s biggest Holiday Parks, a visit to Trecco Bay in South Wales really should be on everyone’s bucket list! This is why myself and a couple of friends packed our bags this October and took our first visit to the stunning Glamorgan coastline hoping to make the most of the remaining sunshine.

It’s safe to say we weren’t disappointed and our first stay at Trecco was full of excitement, adventure, relaxation and (our personal favourite) a lot of good food!

The best bits…

Waking up to this!

We arrived at dusk and headed straight to the main venue for food and entertainment so it’s fair to say we hadn’t yet got our bearings, but after a cosy night sleep in the caravan we woke up early to explore the park. If there’s one thing you should do during your stay here, it’s to wake up early at least once and soak up the most stunning sunrise that drenches the park in the morning… we guarantee you won’t regret it.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast in Coast Bar and Kitchen we wandered down to the seafront as the tide was going out to reveal a sunning beach that certainly deserves its blue flag status! With smooth golden sand and deep blue water we can see why this beach is loved by holiday makers and locals alike. Our top tip is to get an ice cream or if you’re young at heart like us, a Slush Puppie and relax on the seafront benches watching the waves go by… heaven.

There are so many options for dining at Trecco even the fussiest of eaters will find something they like – we chose to eat in Coast (we highly recommend the burgers and fajitas). After wolfing down our main meals we took on the challenge of the Chocomania Sharing Sundae (warning: this desert is not for the faint hearted!). Consisting of six scoops of ice cream, chocolate brownie, Maltesers, Smarties, flakes and wafers topped with cream and chocolate sauce! We are ashamed to say between the three of us we didn’t make it to the bottom of this delicious dessert, but we would love to know anyone who has!!!

We never missed a match!

With the Rugby World Cup in full swing we certainly weren’t worried about missing a game whilst staying at Trecco. With BT Sport and Sky Sports available all we had to do was sit back, enjoy (and pray for a win!!). With it being so popular we wondered if we would get a seat, however the big screens in the spacious Sportsman Bar allowed plenty of room for everyone.

New discoveries around every cornerrb15251_Dodgems

Each day there was something new and exciting to explore at Trecco Bay (after all it is one of the biggest parks in UK!) From a relaxing swim in the indoor pool to a round of crazy golf it was easy to feel like a kid on holiday again. We particularly enjoyed racing around in the dodgems and not to mention scoring a win on the arcade machines. The fun doesn’t stop in the evenings either, the Parkdean Troupers go all out to entertain with game shows, disco and fantastic choreographed Showtime entertainment.

There was so much to do on park we barely scratched the surface of everything the local area has to offer. So rather than ticking this one off our list it’s going on again, visit number two is a must!

Let us know about your visit to Trecco on our Facebook page, we’d love to hear your tips about what we can do on our next visit.
