More of You Think It’s Better in Britain!

ParkdeanINFOGRAPHIC - CORRECTEDWith brilliant beaches, fantastic food and more charming Great British culture than you can shake a stick at, it’s no wonder more and more people are choosing to holiday at home.

But for us here at Parkdean, UK holidays are more than just a fad, they’re our passion! And so we decided to get out and about to ask residents of the South West just what they think about the humble staycation’s rising popularity, and created a fun quiz to see if you can tell the difference between Devon and Cornwall along the way…

o A whopping 87% of people we surveyed had already spent a summer holiday in either Cornwall or Devon, fancy that!

o With 45% of Staycationers quoting ‘It’s so picturesque, why would I leave?’ as their reason for choosing holidays near home. Hear hear we say!

o It comes as no surprise that the majority recommended The Eden Project as their top family day out in Cornwall. If you haven’t been already, it’s definitely one for your holiday bucket list!

o Apparently for most, kicking out in hiking boots to explore the area is preferable to a day at a theme park… good on you guys, these regions are just too beautiful to stand in queues all day!

o And finally Cornwall’s method of scone preparation came out on top with twice as many choosing to apply jam first, and then cream. Although this question doesn’t teach us much about staycations (an off-the-wall 3% even claimed they’d go either way!) we feel the matter requires more practical research… with a nice cuppa.

So, are you a Cornwall know-it-all? Are you simply dotty about Devon? If you love the South West as much as we do and think you know your stuff, test your wits and take our Cornwall or Devon Quiz now. We’ll be treating whoever’s top of the leader board on 4th September 2015 to a fantastic family break in Devon or Cornwall worth £499!
