Helston Flora Day, 8th May

The ancient Helston Flora Day festival is an explosion of colour and music, as townsfolk take to the streets dressed in magnificent formalwear and perform traditional dances. The main street buzzes with stalls selling local products and there’s even a fairground. A great family day out!

St Agnes Bolster Day, 2-3rd May

Join the brave villagers of St Agnes this weekend for their annual Bolster Festival, celebrating their legendary victory over the evil Bolster giant. Townsfolk hold a lantern procession to the town’s highest point, bonfire and barbeque, followed by live music and life size puppets of the characters!

Lostfest, 17th May 

The pretty little town of Lostwithiel comes alive for a foot-stomping day of music, madness and mayhem! LostFest is an eclectic mix of music, arts, crafts, antiques and food stalls to browse, plus live demonstrations, workshops and even a Mediaeval Battle Re-enactment!

National Surfing Championships, 2-4th May 

The next generation of surfers take to the waves of Fistral Beach to battle against seasoned pro’s in the hope of taking home the prestigious National Surfing Champion title. It’s a surf loving spectators dream, and a great excuse to while away the day on this stunning beach!

Night surf with fireworks, 23-24th May 

And if surf spotting’s your thing, you won’t want to miss Fistral Beach’s Night Surf. The only event of its kind in Europe, many international competitors take to the waves in an exciting two day competition under the glow of special flood lights on the beach. Plus there’s a free fireworks display over the beach as part of the closing party on Sunday night!

Tunes in the Dunes, 22-24th May 2015 

If toe tapping, chart topping tunes on the beach are more your thing, head along to Perranporth for a brand new festival, Tunes in the Dunes. With Scouting For Girls, Tom Odell and Status Quo headlining before a backdrop of scenic cliffs and sand dunes, it’s all set to be a corker!
