Education Vacation in Cornwall

Education Vacation

Education Vacations are now a thing; people choosing holidays based on new activities they can learn or teach. In and around our Cornish parks, we have a variety of different things you might like to try or learn. Our parks are so diverse and so are the activities; from surfing in Holywell Bay to foraging for food, there’s something new for everyone.

Here’s some of our top education entertainment in Cornwall:

Surfs up at Cornwall Surf Academy

A great activity to try while in Cornwall is surfing – you can’t visit the surf capital of Europe and not give it a go! Why not call in at the Cornwall Surf Academy and learn how to ride the waves at Holywell Bay, which is just a stone’s throw from our park there.

Rambling to explore

There are over 400 beaches in Cornwall, why not explore the rock pools or discover sand dunes and cliff caves? Along the coastlines are some lovely costal paths with beautiful views of the sea, try following one through to a quaint local village. With cosy cottages and winding paths, it’s the perfect place to stroll while getting a feel of Cornish countryside. Read some of our top ‘Cornwalks’ here.

Cornwall Rocks

If you are a bit of a thrill seeker, this one is for you! Just a 10 minute drive from our St Minver Park, Cornish Rock Tours LTD offers invigorating, extreme sports activities. With coasteering, wild swimming, rock climbing and sea kayaking to choose from, there is no end to the excitement.

Let’s go fly a kite

Learn how to skim across the water on a kitesurf board, with Mobius Kite School. An exciting new hobby that will allow you to make the most of the beautiful blue waters in Cornwall, in a mishmash of a kite and surfboard. If flying over water isn’t your thing, try blasting across the beach in a kite buggy or kite land-board.

Forage for food

Discover how to identify wild foods by combing the Cornish countryside for edible plants. Learn all the health benefits of cooking up a meal using ingredients you have foraged with Wildwalks South West.

Dive into Cornwall

Dive into Cornwall’s delightful coastline with PADI Scuba Diving. Take the plunge into warm, clear, Cornish waters and get up close and personal with marine life – including reefs, dolphins, seals and even basking sharks! With boat trips and indoor practice pools to assist you while you learn to swim with scuba equipment on, you’ll be a pro in no time.

Lusty Glaze Adventure Centre

Abseiling, wire walks and cliff assault courses are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the range of activities on offer at Lusty Glaze. If all the excitement of the extreme sports gets a bit much, you can always finish up with a relaxing massage.

So there you have it, our suggestions of new things to try in Cornwall this year. There’s plenty more exciting things to try and enjoy on our parks too, so make sure you pick the park right for you with our Guide to Cornwall.
