Food and Drinks Festivals and Events Calendar

It is a well-known fact that Scotland is renowned for its whisky heritage and great food. Whilst you are on your caravan or camping holiday with Parkdean, there is no better place to get some local inspiration than through visiting the fantastic food and drinks festivals and events which are held across Scotland. So, we’ve made a calendar of some of the best events for a day out.

17th-19th June – Tummel and Tay Festival

Tummel and Tay Festival is a unique collaboration between three cultural venues; The Birks Cinema, Birnam Arts and Pitlochry Festival Theatre. The festival was created to celebrate the finest produce, whether cultural or otherwise, of Highland Perthshire. When you are finished tasting the delicious samples and decided what you want to take home, you can head to the other venues to take in a spot of film, music, and theatre.

23rd-25th June -Glasgow Real Ale Festival

Glasgow Real Ale Festival is a beer festival organised and run by the Glasgow and West of Scotland branch of CAMRA. Held in the stunning Briggait, the historic site of Glasgow’s old fish market, the festival will see over 100 beers from breweries in Scotland and the rest of the UK. Offering a range of styles from pale hoppy ales through to darker stouts and porters, whatever your taste, there will be a real ale for everyone at the Glasgow Real Ale Festival.

23rd-26th June – The Royal Highland Show

The 176th Royal Highland Show, which is one of Scotland’s most iconic events, is set to take place at the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh. Firmly established as one of Europe’s most impressive celebrations of food, farming, and rural life, one of the show’s biggest successes is Scotland’s Larder Live. Visitors will be treated to live cooking experiences from top chefs and given the opportunity to take home some of the hundreds of products on sale, from the finest local meat and sustainable Scottish fish to artisan preserves and botanical gins.

5th-7th August – Edinburgh Foodies Festival

As Foodies enters its 2nd decade as the UK’s biggest celebration of food and drink, the festival has announced a lip-smacking line-up of new culinary features and top chefs who will showcase at this summer’s festival in Inverleith Park, Edinburgh. Scotland’s culinary elite will showcase their skills and share insight into this year’s food trends while answering questions from the audience.

2nd-4th September – Dundee Flower and Food Festival

The Dundee Flower and Food Festival is the region’s top lifestyle event, offering the best in food, horticulture, and live entertainment. There will be guest chefs giving live demonstrations, a Dundee cake competition and plenty of other stalls and stands for you to enjoy.

3rd-4th September – Loch Lomond Food and Drink Festival

A true celebration of Scottish food and drink, the Loch Lomond Food and Drink Festival brings around 30,000 people to the area to enjoy great food, drink, and entertainment. From cookery demonstrations to haggis eating competitions, along with plenty of delicious local food and drink to sample and buy to take back to the campsite with you, it really is a day out for everyone.

10th-11th September – Best of the West Festival

The Best of the West Festival aims to mark, highlight and promote Argyll’s abundant, quality produce to the world. The BOWFest Festival Kitchen will host local celebrity chefs cooking their signature dishes over the two days. Whether you love the idea of relishing in fine dining, or a regular foodie excited about tucking into Argyll’s local food and regional specialities, you’ll definitely enjoy the gastronomic offerings The Best of the West Festival showcases.

17th September – Newmilns Food Festival

Newmilns Food Festival is Scotland’s newest food festival which is completely free to attend.  With a host of producers selling local and artisan foods, it’s a great place to taste some of Scotland’s wonderful food and drink ranging from simply epic ice cream, to the best of Scottish Beef. Watch one of the demonstrations and learn more about Scottish food, including ways to cook a variety of dishes, from everyday meals which you can cook by the campfire to exotic delights.

4th-6th November – BBC Good Food Show, Glasgow

A visit to a BBC Good Food Show is a great way to spend a day with your family and friends. See a sensational line up of top chefs cooking live, holding interviews, signing books, and inspiring you with new recipe ideas for the season ahead. You can sample to your heart’s content and even pick out some culinary delights to take home with you.

12th November – Glasgow Whisky Festival

At this year’s Glasgow Whisky Festival, there will be more than 40 whisky stands in Scotland’s National Stadium featuring Scotland’s best drams, plus whiskies from all over the world. Further stands will offer whisky-related art, books, food and other items, so whether you are a whisky enthusiast or wanting to learn more about it, this is a great day out for all.

26th November – Drambusters Whisky Festival, Dumfries

Drambusters Whisky Festival is a festival which celebrates the water of life. Here you can meet the makers and celebrities of the whisky world and have a wee dram of a range of malts and other spirits. This is a must for anybody who wants to learn more about Scotland’s most famous drink!
