Check out Award Winning Beaches at a Park near You This Summer!

With great UK holidays come the memories of the seaside and building sandcastles. We thought we would give you a little guide to some of our favourite gems this summer so you can go out and explore with your friends & family.

Polzeath Beach isn’t too far from the beautiful country park of St Minver. The beach was named amongst the Marine Conservation Society Good Beach guide for 2014 it’s easily accessible and is a great place for surfing.

East Looe Beach is a long-time favourite of many holidaymakers and located not too far from the lovely Looe Bay Holiday Park, East Looe beach offers the perfect location for swimming and provides safe bathing especially for the little ones. The promenade along the front is perfect for enjoying that summer ice cream as well as being a great place to watch the local fisherman come in with their morning & afternoon hauls.

Mullion Cove is based right on the West Coast of the Lizard Peninsula right next to Mullion Holiday Park. This small but sandy beach is  near the picturesque Mullion harbour and there is even a  cave to explore when the tide is out.

The Seaside Award winning 2014 beach of Challaborough Bay is in a lovely sheltered cove with a fine sandy beach.  Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it’s a firm favourite with body boarders and surfers alike, the bay also provides a great place for the little ones to build sand castles and exploring the rock pools.

The wonderful Gorleston beach is located just a ten minute drive away from the beautiful country park of Cherry Tree.  The promenade along Gorleston has a children’s playground, benches and undercover seating areas to enjoy those delicious summer ice creams on the sea front. The beach is also patrolled by the RNLI lifeguards between the yellow & red flags so you can enjoy the sea & sun in safety.

West Beach at Hayling Island is one of the most popular beaches lying at the west end of the seafront. The waters are sheltered by the West Winner sand bar so the waves won’t get too big in the summer and during the day the warmer water stays close to the seafront. There is a lovely small kiosk here that sells snacks, ice cream, drinks and even childrens beach toys so if you forget those buckets & spades don’t worry!

Pendine Sands Holiday Park is right by Pendine Sands, a seven mile stretch of beach. During the 1900’s Pendine sands was used for car & motorbike races with several speed records being set here. As recently as 2013, a UK speed record was set right here for a bike with a top speed of 112mph, so there is plenty of history on this stretch of sand and a beautiful area to explore.
