This cover has been specially put together by national insurance brokers Bishop Skinner & Ageas Insurance Ltd and will cover you for:
Cover of your luggage for up to £1,500 per person against theft, loss or damage
Cover of your money for up to £300 per person
Personal liability of up to £2,000,000 for legal liability and property damage
Personal accident cover of up to £20,000
Medical expenses cover of up to £1,000
Holiday curtailment, cover of up to £500 towards travel and accommodation expenses
To give you added security, you are covered for up to two cars during your holiday.
Cover for up to £300 towards labour charges for emergency repairs or, if your car becomes unusable for more than 24 hours, towards the cost of recovery or storage at a garage
Up to £70 per day (and £600 in all) to hire a similar car to continue your holiday
Up to £40 per person (and £200 in all) for any hotel accommodation, resulting from car breakdown
Up to £2,500 towards the cost of taking a disabled vehicle home or an allowance for one person to collect the car
Under the Association of British Insurers General Business Code of Practice, we must draw your attention to important features of your policy including:
Policy document - You should read this document carefully. It gives you full details of what is and what is not covered and the conditions of the cover.Conditions, exclusions & warranties Conditions and exclusions will apply to individual sections of your policy while general exclusions, conditions and warranties will apply to the whole of your policy.
Dangerous sports and past times - If you are going to take part in dangerous sports or pastimes where there is a high risk of injury, check that your policy covers you.
Property claims - These claims are paid based on the value of the goods at the time you lose them and not a 'new for old' or replacement cost basis unless otherwise stated in your policy.
Policy limits - Most sections of your policy have limits on the amount the insurer will pay under that section. Some sections also include other specific limits, for example: for any one item or for valuables in total. You are advised to check your policy if you are intending to take expensive items with you. Policy excesses Under most sections of the policy, claims will be subject to an excess. This means that you will be responsible for paying the first part of the claim, the amount you have to pay is the excess.
Reasonable care - You need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property, as you would if you were not insured.
Complaints - Your insurance policy will have in it a complaints procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint.
'Cooling off' period - Your policy contains a 14 day 'cooling off' period during which you can return the policy and get a refund, if this insurance policy fails to meet your needs. A refund of premium is only available for a single trip policy if the period from the date of issue of the policy to your scheduled return date home is greater than 28 days.
Your policy is governed by English law unless you and your insurers have agreed otherwise. If you would like more information, you should ask the person selling the travel insurance, particularly if you feel the insurance may not meet your needs. This information is a summary of the main terms of cover. You will be sent a policy document containing full terms with your booking confirmation.
