Cycled from Croyde to Barnstaple with 3 kids age 9, 7 & 4. Stopped off along the route at pubs, kids loved it & really safe traffic free path.

We had a fantastic day on the Tarka Trial. We hired bikes from a superb site at Barnstaple Train Station (highly recommended - a really helpful man). We travelled from Barnstaple approximately 11 miles and back again (just past Biddeford). Very safe, traffic free with stunning views - plenty of places to stop. We will be doing it again next year.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Ruda and spent a day of our holidays on the Tarka Trail. We have two children aged 7 & 3 so we aim to do the trail in small sections suitable for the 7 year old. We have enjoyed each visit to the trail and find the scenery lovely. We will no doubt be back next year to do the next section of the trail.

Great ride. Got a bit lost in Barnstaple towards Bideford.

Even though it was just a short break this time and no children with us, we still had to do a section of the Tarka Trail. Barnstaple to Fremington with the bonus of lunch at Fremington Quay. Absolutely lovely.
